Who We Are

Think X Design Print is a division of Think X Design Media, a full-service creative and technology studio based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We specialise in one thing: getting local businesses in front of real households via Canada Post Neighbourhood Mail, at a price that makes sense.

The idea behind the shared-card model came from watching small business owners spend serious money on solo direct mail campaigns — $3,000, $4,000, $5,000 per run — when the format could be made dramatically more accessible by coordinating multiple advertisers on a single, professionally produced card.

Canada Post's Neighbourhood Mail infrastructure is among the most efficient local advertising delivery systems in the country. Our job is to make it accessible to businesses that couldn't otherwise justify the cost of a solo campaign.

Our model is built on three principles: category exclusivity (you never share a card with a competitor), full managed service (we handle everything from slot coordination to Canada Post submission), and measurable results (every campaign is set up with tracking tools from day one).

We serve Nanaimo as our primary market, with the city's mix of established neighbourhoods, growing residential areas, and strong local business community making it an ideal environment for neighbourhood-targeted direct mail. Beyond Nanaimo, we coordinate runs across all of Vancouver Island and coast-to-coast across Canada for clients who need broader reach.

Service Area

Based in Nanaimo. Built for Vancouver Island.

Nanaimo is our home market. We know its postal carrier routes, its neighbourhoods — from the Old City Quarter and South End to Hammond Bay, Chase River, and Departure Bay — and the businesses that serve them. That local knowledge shapes how we select carrier routes for every run.

Canada Post

Our Relationship with Canada Post

Think X Design Print submits all campaigns through Canada Post's Neighbourhood Mail program as an authorised commercial mailer. We handle the full Canada Post process on behalf of our clients — carrier route selection, volume calculations, induction documentation, and physical delivery of print runs to the postal facility.

Canada Post's Neighbourhood Mail program delivers to residential addresses across all of Canada. The program is unaddressed — meaning no individual name or address is required — making it the most accessible format for local businesses who don't have a mailing list.

We stay current with Canada Post's size specifications, pricing structure, and program requirements so our clients don't have to. Any change to the Neighbourhood Mail program that affects our production or delivery timelines is handled internally and communicated to clients proactively.

Differentiators

What Canada Post Doesn't Offer — and Why It Matters

Canada Post provides the delivery infrastructure. We provide everything that makes a direct mail campaign actually work: the shared cost model, category exclusivity, in-house creative, and a full managed service.

[01]

The Shared Cost Model

Running a solo Canada Post Neighbourhood Mail campaign — where your business fills the entire piece — costs $3,000–$6,000 per run. By sharing an 8.5×14" double-sided card across 12 businesses, we bring that cost to $400 per slot without reducing the reach. Up to 10,000 households still receive the card. The economics change completely.

[02]

Category Exclusivity

We never put two competing businesses on the same card. If you're the only restaurant on a card reaching 10,000 Nanaimo households, that's meaningfully different from sharing ad space with six competitors on a Facebook sidebar. Exclusivity is enforced strictly — one business per category per run, no exceptions.

[03]

Measurable by Design

Every campaign we run is set up for measurement. Promo codes, QR codes printed on your ad that link to your own landing pages — we help clients establish tracking before launch so results are attributable from day one. (We don't build the landing pages themselves; we include the QR code or URL you provide.) Direct mail's reputation for being 'untrackable' is outdated. The methods are simple and reliable.

[04]

Full Managed Service

Canada Post handles delivery. We handle everything else: booking coordination, ad compilation, professional printing on high-gloss stock, Canada Post submission and carrier route selection, and deadline management. Our clients don't interact with Canada Post at any point. One call, full service.

[05]

In-House Creative

Think X Design Print is a division of Think X Design Media — a full-service creative studio. Clients who need their ad designed work with the same team that produces the card. There's no handoff to an outside supplier, no miscommunication on print specs, and no risk of an ad arriving that doesn't meet our production standards.

Measurability

Direct Mail Is Measurable. We Prove It.

The most common objection to direct mail is attribution: "How do I know it worked?" Our answer is to establish tracking before the campaign launches — not after. Every client who books with us gets guidance on setting up at least one clear tracking method: a unique promo code, or a QR code printed on the ad that links to a page on the client's own website. (Clients provide the destination URL or landing page; we handle including the QR code or short URL on the ad.)

None of these methods require sophisticated technology. A promo code works in a cash register or a point-of-sale system or written on a receipt. A QR code is a URL redirect — any website can set one up in minutes.

At the end of each campaign, our clients know how many promo codes were redeemed, how many QR codes were scanned, and how many new customers said they saw the flyer. That's honest attribution — not a pixel that's been miscounting conversions since iOS 14.
